Test Piper

Earlier this week I put up this little WIP for popsicle stick based airplane. There was a ton of sanding involved and the basswood just doesn’t like to sand smooth, but the test model is done. Honestly the hardest parts are getting wheel round and the propeller (with the grain of the wood the damn thing kept snapping!). For the prop I actually went back to coffee stirrers and didn’t worry about getting to be aerodynamic.

I tried to stencil the top wing, it’s didn’t go well, so while I painted over the black it still shows through, but this was a walk through build.
